(Central Valley Business Times, December 2015) Laggards, in marketing lingo, are consumers that ride the tail end of the Diffusion Curve.  Whether it’s computers, TV sets or toasters, I am not an early adopter.  I lag.  Every Christmas season (which starts after Halloween), I wrestle with more consumer purchase decision making than the rest of […]

“I don’t like spiders and snakes, and that ain’t what it takes to love me, you fool, you fool.” Jim Stafford, Comedian, musician and singer-songwriter Maggie, my 9th grader, screamed louder than a jet engine.  Hun, my wife, shrieked “Get it out of there!”

“It’s not easy being green.”  Kermit the Frog Earth Day, April 22, is when the global community acknowledges our planet’s environmental status.  Seven billion humans inhabit Earth and we should really figure out how to manage it.  Think of us as sharers of a gigantic sandbox. I helped my wife dig 100 holes last weekend to plant grape vines.  Filling up the holes is a lot easier than filling out IRS forms… I wish I had orange flags to show me the loop holes.   Whaddya think?

Either my memory is failing or my brain is overtaxed.  I suffer from CRS syndrome – can’t remember squat.  My wife, Hun, points this out with ease.  Forgetfulness surfaces when I’m charged even a menial assignment.  “Honey, please get some milk and eggs.  I’m heading to the office.  Write yourself a note,” she added.   “Aw, […]

Guys, here are 4 things you can do to help make your wife’s stay on Earth easier: 1. Vacuum her car. 2. Fill up her gas tank. 3. Buy her flowers…from a florist who conducts business in a building with a solid roof, not at road-side stands or at gas stations.  You will earn points by actually […]

The four of us stood in the aisle staring at the TV screens.  Customers muttered as they walked past.  The sales agent pitched.  The choices were Panasonic, Sony, or Samsung. “For sports you may like the Sony, but for movies I recommend the Panasonic.”  He switched channels so we could compare.  “With more pixels you […]
